1. Who we are

Deskkit ("we", "us") is a desktop productivity app available on macOS, Windows, and Linux. This policy covers both the app and our online features (accounts, chat, support, and subscriptions).

2. What stays on your device

Most of what you do in Deskkit never leaves your computer. The following are stored locally only and are not uploaded to us:

Your notes, clipboard history, text snippets, and window layouts
App preferences and settings (themes, hotkeys, etc.)
Files you place in the local file vault
Launcher usage and aliases

3. What we collect (online features)

When you create an account or use our online features, we collect:

Account information, your email address and a display name. Sign-in and passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see your password.
Community content, messages you send in Global Chat, direct messages, group chats, and support tickets.
Safety & anti-abuse data, a device identifier (a hashed hardware fingerprint) and your IP address, used to enforce bans and prevent ban-evasion and abuse.
Basic technical data, app version and operating system, to deliver updates and support.
Subscription data, if you subscribe to Pro or Ultimate, your billing is handled by our payment processor. We do not store your full card details.

4. How we use your data

To provide accounts, chat, support, and (for Ultimate) cloud sync
To keep the community safe, moderation and ban enforcement
To process subscriptions and provide customer support
To deliver updates and fix problems

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers that help us run Deskkit:

Google Firebase (Authentication & Realtime Database), stores your account, messages, and related data.
Discord, only if you link your Deskkit account to Discord or interact with our bot; handled under Discord's own policies.
Payment processor, when you subscribe, to handle billing securely.

We may also disclose data if required by law.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and community data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have additional rights, including the right to a copy of your data and to object to certain processing

8. Children

Deskkit is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where required). Please don't use the online features if you're under that age.

9. Security

We use reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here and update the date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.
